Sealed / MAP trays

The atmosphere is part of the pack

A sealed tray does more than close: it holds a chosen atmosphere around the product. Get the gas mix, the barrier and the seal right, and shelf life extends without additives — the pack itself does the preserving.

We design the tray and flange, cut the sealing tooling, and form, seal and cut the pack on one line — natural atmosphere, MAP, vacuum or skin. Seal integrity is validated, and every box leaves labelled and traceable.

Sealed on one line

Formed, sealed and cut in a single pass — with the seal validated, not assumed

Atmospheres

Four ways to close a tray

The right atmosphere depends on the product — how fragile it is, how fast it degrades and how it should look on the shelf.

Natural atmosphere

A clean, tight seal with ambient air — the simplest protected pack.

MAP — gas flush

Air replaced with a gas mix matched to the product to slow oxidation and growth.

Vacuum

Air drawn out before sealing — minimal oxygen for robust products.

Skin pack

Film drawn tight over the product — vacuum-level shelf life with premium presentation.

Seal types

The seal is engineered, not incidental

Contact-welded on our own sealing tooling — the seal geometry follows how the pack must hold and how it should open.

Weld seal

Permanent, maximum-integrity seal — for packs that must not open until cut or torn.

Peel seal

Opens by hand with a controlled force — tight on the shelf, easy at the table.

Full-area & flange seals

Sealed across the whole lid or only on the flange — chosen per pack and product.

Seal integrity validation

Seal strength and leak testing documented as part of validation — proven, not assumed.

How we help

One partner, from design to validated line

Every stage under one roof means fewer hand-offs, faster iterations and a sealed pack that's right the first time it runs.

FAQ

Sealed-tray questions, answered

What is MAP packaging?+
Modified atmosphere packaging replaces the air inside a sealed tray with a gas mix matched to the product — typically to slow oxidation and microbial growth and extend shelf life without additives.
Should I choose MAP, vacuum or skin packaging?+
MAP suits products that must keep their shape and appearance, vacuum suits robust products where minimal oxygen matters most, and skin packs hold the product tight against the tray for presentation and long shelf life. We'll match the format to your product.
What is the difference between a peel seal and a weld seal?+
A weld seal is permanent and gives maximum integrity; a peel seal is engineered to open by hand with a controlled force. The choice depends on how the pack is opened and what integrity it must hold — see sealing tooling.
How do you verify that the seal is tight?+
Seal integrity is validated as part of our validation service — seal-strength testing and leak detection matched to your requirements, with documented results.
