A cavity shaped around your product

A blister pack is a thermoformed cavity that holds the product exactly where it should be — visible, protected and presented. It's the workhorse of retail, medical and industrial packaging, and it's what InnovaPax was built around.

Because we design the pack, cut the tooling and run the production ourselves, a blister project moves fast: from your CAD or physical product to a 3D-printed prototype tool and real samples, then to production aluminium tooling — formed, sealed and cut on one line, labelled and traceable per box.

Blister formats we produce

Every format below is thermoformed on our own tooling. The right one depends on how the pack is opened, sealed and presented.

Sealed blister

Cavity with a welded or peelable lidding film — the classic protected pack.

Clamshell

Hinged, self-closing pack formed in one piece — reclosable and tool-free.

Multi-cavity & kit blisters

Several products in one pack — each in its own defined pocket.

Insert blisters

Formed inserts that position a product inside a carton or outer pack.

Handling & line blisters

Work-in-process carriers that move parts safely through your production.

Peel-open device packs under the MedicoPax brand — see the medical page.

Design features

Engineered into the cavity

A good blister is more than a pocket. These are the details we design in — and prove on prototype tooling before production.

Product nest & retention

The cavity grips the product where it can take load — no rattling, no stress on fragile features.

Flange for sealing

A flat, controlled flange gives the seal tooling a clean surface — full-area, flange-only or knurled welds.

Draft & wall thickness

Draft angles and draw depth are balanced so the formed wall stays strong where it matters.

Stacking & denesting

Stacking shoulders and denest lugs so blisters separate cleanly by hand or on your line.

Peel & opening features

Peel corners, thumb recesses and hinges designed for the way the pack is actually opened.

R4 corners, precut film

Formed from stocked precut film with R4 corner radius — safe to handle and ready for our tooling.

One partner, from design to validated line

Every stage under one roof means fewer hand-offs, faster iterations and a blister that's right the first time it runs.

FAQ

Blister pack questions, answered

Can you make a blister in a fully custom shape?+
Yes. Every blister starts from your product geometry. We design the cavity, draft and flange around the part, prototype with 3D-printed tooling and move to production aluminium tooling once the fit is approved.
Which material should my blister be made of?+
PETG is the default for clear, tough retail and medical blisters. rPET adds recycled content, and PP suits hinged clamshells and mono-material designs. We'll recommend one for your case — see the materials hub.
Do you seal the blister as well?+
Yes. Our sealing tooling welds lidding film to the blister flange — full-area, flange-only or knurled seals — and combined tooling forms, seals and cuts the pack on one machine.
Can I test the blister before paying for production tooling?+
Yes. We prototype with 3D-printed tooling so you can check fit, presentation and line behaviour on real samples before committing to production aluminium tools. Packaging design covers this stage.
